 The EarthStar Cafe is planned to be a worldwide vegan restaurant franchise demonstrating experientially the many plant based meat substitute products now available. The restaurants would educate customers concerning the blessings of a plant based diet as brought forth by John Robbins in Diet For A New America while at the same time giving customers the opportunity to taste these new dishes! Diet for a New America demonstrates the enormous harm that an animal based diet is doing to our health and the environment and the many blessings that can come from eating less animal based foods and more plant based foods. The EarthStar Cafe will focus primarily on education, the food being secondary. It will be an experiential demonstration of how easily plant based fast foods can replace the animal based foods the public is used to. The menu will be limited and very simple, easily duplicated. We will serve primarily meat substitutes and, in fact, be subsidized through deep discounts from such companies as Rice dream, Boca Burger and the many other meat substitute vegan foods companies whose products we would be showcasing. These subsidies will enable us to keep prices low and give us more for wages and advertising. The cafes will be located in high foot traffic malls to start with. The outlets will be comparatively small and inexpensive to set up and staff. Customers will order at a counter and carry their own food to the table. The music will be Renaissance music which is uplifting,yet relaxing. Colors will be pastels of blue and green, earth colors. Handouts discussing the key blessings of a plant based diet will be at each table and at the register . We will focus on the blessings rather than the horrors of our present system as where attention goes, energy flows. The key blessings include

A customer can become an Earth Star and get a special pin by reciting from memory over a micorophone the key blessings of a plant based diet and certifying that they are now on a plant based diet. Earth Stars will get an ID card worth 10% discount at all EarthStar Cafes worldwide. We will sell all of the meat substitute products we serve for customers to buy and prepare at home. We will also sell cookies, gummie bears, vegan doughnuts, books and T -shirts/tank tops/polo shirts with the EarthStar Cafe logo in our retail display areas. We will have an Earth Angel in each region, visiting cafes on a rotational basis,. our own version of “ronald macdonald” She will praise the customers for their compassion in action while handing out vegan treats, such as gummie bears, to customers and children . I would envision minimal cooking on site, with most products being open and serve in nature such as vegan lunch meats, cheeses or easily cooked items such as burgers and chili dogs. Steaming and baking will be the preferred cooking methods. Regarding the menu itself, our goal as I see it is to offer exclusively menu items that showcase meat substitutes. The menu must also be very simple and easily duplicable by franschisees , who would ideally order directly from the meat substitute companies we set up with the prototype. The menu will include:
EarthStar Cafe Inc. will receive a small royalty on all sales to be used for national and world wide advertising on TV and on the internet. The costs will be low due to deep discounts on food items and renting a smaller space in a mall vs free standing building. This will leave a proportionally greater percentage for advertising and wages. We will pay employees a higher than average wage as we need quality people due to the educational focus. I believe we could have the prototype operational within 6 months of receiving venture capital and have several franchises operational within the year. We should be able to cover all costs of creating the prototype and offering the franchises for $750,000. My goal is to have the Compassionate Alternative in every city where there is a BurgerKing or MacDonalds, world wide.
I really believe the EarthStar Cafes could provide the experiential basis for thousands, if not millions , to convert to a plant based diet and start creating well being instead of suffering in this world.
